Catherine May Co or “May” received her B.S. in Commerce from De La Salle University, Philippines in 1999 graduating Honorable Mention. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo De Manila University in 2003. While in law school, she interned for Baker McKenzie (Manila office). May is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, and before the Federal Courts of the Eastern District of New York, the Southern District of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second District. She is also qualified as a guardian ad litem under the Office of Court Administration. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and Queens Bar Association. She is also a member of the Bankruptcy, Immigration, Matrimonial, Criminal Defense of the Nassau County Bar Association. She speaks English, Filipino (Tagalog) and Mandarin-Chinese (proficient).

Joshua M. Schubert | Associate Attorney

Joshua M. Schubert graduated cum laude from Boston University, where he majored in Political Science and minored in Journalism. Mr. Schubert earned his Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Mr. Schubert is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. He has appeared in Supreme and Family Courts in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and throughout Long Island. Mr. Schubert specializes in Matrimonial and Family Law. He speaks English and Spanish (conversational). Mr. Schubert is also a published author. His work has appeared in such publications as National Journal’s CongressDaily and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.


A. Edsel Tupaz | Of Counsel

A. Edsel Tupaz or “Edsel” was May’s classmate during her J.D. Studies and is the founder and managing partner of Law Office of Tupaz and Associates. His expertise lies in the fields of international trade and development law, comparative constitutional law, and court systems design. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and was admitted to Stanford's advanced program in international legal studies (SPILS-JSM) in 2009. Mr. Tupaz earned his Juris Doctor from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law in 2003 and graduated with the highest honors: the St. Thomas More Most Distinguished Award. During his JD studies, Mr. Tupaz was an editor of the Ateneo Law Journal, president and head coach of the debate society, and co-chairperson of the commercial law review bar operations. Following law school, he worked as a corporate attorney at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law Offices. In 2005 and 2006, he served as a law clerk and principal speechwriter for the Chief Justice of the Philippines and also became a speechwriter for the Philippine Ambassador to the United Nations in New York. He occasionally taught undergraduate courses in economics, taxation, agrarian reform, political philosophy and philosophy of law. Edsel has successfully passed the New York State Bar exams.

 

Joshua R. Crane | Office Manager

Joshua R. Crane is in charge of the daily day to day operations of the firm. He manages the office appointments and calendar, coordinates depositions, staff hours, payroll, billing etc. He is also knowledgeable in Bankruptcy Law and Real Estate Transactions.
