Hector M. Roman is of counsel to Catherine May Co, Esq. and the managing partner of his own firm in Jackson Heights, New York. Prior to establishing his firm, Mr. Roman was an associate at a private mid-size law firm in Garden City, New York, working in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate transactions, criminal, matrimonial and family law. His primary concentrations continue to be in the aforesaid areas as well as in immigration and nationality, bankruptcy, and landlord/tenant law. Mr. Roman brings years of valuable experience representing clients before state civil and criminal courts, the Executive Office for Immigration Review and various United States federal courts and agencies. He has traveled extensively to New Delhi, India, where he has successfully represented many clients before the United States Consulate. Born in New York, New York, Mr. Roman understands and appreciates that the foundation of the United States was built by immigrants (his maternal grandparents came through Ellis Island from Italy) and that they are of vital importance to the economy of the United States and its continued future progress.
Mr. Roman received his B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany in 1991. He received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in 1994, where he was the recipient of the prestigious Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship. He is admitted to practice law in California, New Jersey and New York and in numerous federal courts and government agencies.

He received his Bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from New York Institute of Technology, his Masters in Education with distinction from Hofstra University, and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude from Touro Law Center. He has worked for Long Island law firms in the areas of litigation, municipal law and land use, estate planning and administration, criminal defense and traffic violations, personal injury, and general business law. While in law school, he interned with Hon. A. Spatt, E.D.N.Y. and served as a member of the Touro Law Review.
